New and Returning Students Welcome! Jennifer will be adding additional vocabulary for returning students along with new opportunities to practice speaking while our new students learn the basics!

Homework: Provided
Prerequisites: You do not need any prior Spanish skills to take this class, but students will need to be able to recognize letters, read simple words and write.

Type of Class: This class is designed to enhance your homeschooling. Students will need to practice their new language skills at home to truly learn the language!

The focus of the beginning term is to learn the basics—alphabet sounds, numbers, seasons, colors, greetings, and many common nouns! Returning students will be able to show what they remember and then move on from there!
Students will use their new vocabulary to form sentences and engage in simple conversations. We will also explore Latino/Hispanic culture, art, and music. The learning experience is designed to be fun and interactive, with themes, games, projects, writing activities, and role-playing so that students are always practicing their new language skills!
Our activities will include:
-
Conversations: Show off previously learned skills and practice new ones!
-
In-class experiences: We’ll be playing games, practicing speaking, and beginning to write in Spanish. The students will practice new words and sentences in fun ways to reinforce what they’re learning.
-
Dance moves, songs, and more: We’ll be practicing new dance moves, learning songs, and engaging in activities to help remember our new sounds and words!
-
Projects/Independent Research: Study something new at home and bring it to class to share!
-
Out-of-classroom experiences: Optional homework that can be shared with family and friends at home. Bring it back to class to discuss and showcase what you’ve learned!
